Shifting the Paradigm on Vaccine Hesitancy is a project powered by a Pandemic Planning Grant from the National Alliance of State Pharmacy Associations (NASPA) and the American Pharmacy Association (APhA).

The Alaska Pharmacy Association (AKPhA) has put together a training with some of the leading experts in the field and collected a variety of resources for healthcare providers to utilize in shifting the vaccine paradigm. The Alaska Pharmacy Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. To receive credit, participants must attend each activity in its entirety and complete the online evaluation. CPE credit will be posted to the online CPE Monitor system within 60 days after completion of each activity. Release Date: 06/28/2022  Expiration Date: 06/28/2025

Shifting the Paradigm Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the history of vaccine hesitancy
  • Compare and contrast various approaches are to addressing patients, family members and the community with vaccine hesitancy to build vaccine confidence
  • Review & discuss recorded scenarios on how to foster positive communication with others surrounding vaccine hesitancy
  • Perform three mock scenarios with a partner and build confidence in talking to peers about the choice to vaccinate
