2026 Award Nominations

Please note that each individual is eligible to receive only one award per year. This ensures we can recognize and honor a broad range of exceptional contributions across the profession.
Distinguished Young Pharmacist Award
This award recognizes individual excellence and outstanding contribution to pharmacy associations and communities. Must be a current AKPhA member who received a pharmacy degree within the last 10 years ago (2015 graduation date or later). Sponsored by Pharmacists Mutual.
Bowl of Hygeia Award
This award recognizes a pharmacist who possesses an outstanding record of civic leadership in their community and encourages pharmacists to take active roles in their communities. In addition to service through their local, state, and national pharmacy associations, award recipients devote their time, talent, and resources to a wide variety of causes and community service. Must be a current AKPhA member, must be living, must NOT have served as an AKPhA board member in the last 2 years. Sponsored by the APhA Foundation and the National Alliance of State Pharmacy Associations (NASPA) with support from Boehringer-Ingelheim.
Distinguished Alaskan Pharmacist Award
This award recognizes an Alaskan pharmacist who has worked in Alaska for over 10 years and devoted much of their career working diligently to promote and support the profession of pharmacy and the community in which they live. Furthermore, they have served as a role model for newer pharmacists to emulate through their sustained contributions to the profession over time.
Must be a current AKPhA member. Sponsored by AKPhA.
Pharmacy Technician Award
This award recognizes a pharmacy technician who is an AKPhA member, currently employed in Alaska, and has demonstrated outstanding service. Sponsored by AKPhA.
Student Pharmacist of the Year Award
This award recognizes a student pharmacist who has demonstrated significant involvement in the Association as well as their College of Pharmacy for the advancement of the profession of pharmacy. This award is given in recognition of leadership and professionalism. Must be a current AKPhA member, current student in a Doctor of Pharmacy Program, NOT a past recipient.
Fellow of AKPhA Designation
This designation recognizes a pharmacist’s achievements, contributions to AKPhA and dedication to the practice of pharmacy and the community, and to mentoring future pharmacy leaders. Must be a current AKPhA member, a member of AKPhA for over 10 years with a minimum of 5 years of exemplary contributions or service to the profession through AKPhA involvement. Pharmacists who meet the criteria will be able to utilize the “FAKPhA” designation after their credentials so long as they remain active members of the Association.
Awards will be presented at the AKPhA Annual Convention Award Ceremony at the Hotel Captain Cook February 21st, 2026 from 6:00-10:00pm.
