The Alaska Pharmacists Association Annual Convention & Tradeshow is an event that pharmacy professionals in Alaska look forward to attending each year! We typically have over 200 attendees from all corners of the state. We look forward to hosting our annual awards ceremony where we get to honor outstanding professionals in our field and recognize the accomplishments of our profession. We know that with inflation, everything is more expensive this year – well not for our members! We have worked hard to be able to offer a 10% decrease in our FULL CONVENTION registration for our members from last year’s prices. Thank you for being a member and supporting AKPhA all year long! We have lots of great programming planned and it will be a weekend full of learning, fun and friends! Note that the full convention registration for members is less than the other multi-day option & because Sunday will have our Board of Pharmacy Updates and other programming you won’t want to miss – we strongly encourage full convention registration and promise it will be worth it! We will only be having an in-person option for this 2023.

Hotel Room Reservations

A group rate of $149 sgl/dbl occupancy is available at the Hilton Anchorage for the convention. Please reference the Alaska Pharmacist Association and book rooms AS SOON AS POSSIBLE to ensure availability and receipt of the group rate. The Hilton has already had to add rooms to our block and they are selling out quick – there is no guarantee after February 1st and the rate will not be honored after February 9th. We will be providing the APhA MTM Certificate Training for pharmacists at Convention. The in-person portion of the training will be Friday February 17th from 8am – 5pm.

This certificate training will be free of charge for up to 15 AKPhA Members who MUST also register for the FULL CONVENTION. This is sponsored by the Alaska Dept of Health through the SETMuPP Grant Project.

The Alaska Pharmacy Association & The Sitka Music Festival are joining forces to bring you entertainment during the Annual Convention! (Thanks Dirk & Trish White!)

Join the Sitka Music Festival, Alaska’s premier chamber music presenter since 1972 for their 2023 Alaska Airlines’ Winter Classics in Anchorage from February 17 – 19. The weekend will feature the Arianna String Quartet, praised by the Chicago Tribune saying “quartet playing doesn’t get much better than this.” Joining the quartet will be Grammy winning cellist, and Sitka Music Festival Artistic Director, Zuill Bailey. Repertoire will feature everything from Schubert’s Cello Quintet to classics by Beethoven and Mozart to Gabriela Frank, featured in The Washington Post’s 2017 list of the 35 most significant women composers in history.

The Alaska Pharmacists Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.  Sessions will be accredited for both pharmacists and technicians.

Convention Notes and COVID-19 Considerations

• All materials for the convention will be available online prior to the conference.
• In accordance with CDC guidance, all attendees are encouraged to be fully vaccinated and wear a mask.  Any interaction with the general public poses an elevated risk of being exposed to COVID-19. AKPhA cannot prevent and is not responsible for such risk of infection to any person who chooses to attend the conference. Attendees should stay home if they have tested positive for COVID-19, are waiting for COVID-19 test results, have COVID-19 symptoms, or if they have had close contact with a person who has tested positive for or who has symptoms of COVID-19.
