On March 16th, the Health Resource and Services Administration (HRSA) announced it will stop accepting claims due to a lack of funds. Pharmacies should be sure to process their claims as soon as possible. Specifically, on March 22, 2022 at 11:59 pm ET, the Uninsured Program will stop accepting claims for testing and treatment due to lack of sufficient funds. On April 5, 2022 at 11:59 pm ET, the Uninsured Program will also stop accepting vaccination claims due to a lack of sufficient funds.
Any testing and vaccine administered claim submitted in the portal after those dates will not be adjudicated for payment. HRSA has created a FAQ for these claims submission deadlines.
Further, the program describes that they will adjudicate claims until the program runs out of funding up to that date. There is a possibility that funds will run out prior to this date, so if you have unsubmitted claims, we recommend processing them ASAP.
Funding could be re-authorized, but our partners at the national associations do not have confidence that this will happen.
Thank you for all you have done to take care of vulnerable populations!
